Armenian mythology
Sargis Harutyunyan
Mythology is a complex and multifaceted system of the spiritual culture of mankind, based on prehistoric thinking and worldview, with the logic typical of that same thinking. The results of initial thinking and worldview are the animation and personification of inanimate objects and phenomena of nature, the attribution of human and animal characteristics and relations to them, the conception of the universe in a human, animal or plant form, the identification of existing similarities between phenomenon and nature, not differentiating between a person and an object, an object and its sign, an object and its name, the beginning and the principle and equating them: circumstances that served as the basis for the formation of unlimited symbols and metaphors, which are very typical of the ancient mythological language and thinking.
